A New years and some new services

Happy New Year, I always love the start of a new year, it’s that sense of new beginnings and opportunity. It’s fair to say that we can find that at any point throughout the year, but January always gives me an extra boost.

So, December turned out to be a very busy month. Typically, this can be a quieter time in the world of recruitment, particularly when we mainly focus on permanent hiring. However, with the deadline for kickstart applications being the 17th of December, I was spinning lots of plates. I was delighted to get applications approved for several new clients during December who I am now actively recruiting candidates for, and we also have a number of Kickstart roles that have been live for a few months that we are really keen to find candidates for. If you know a young person between the age of 18-25 years who is looking for a work right now, then do send them our way. We have roles in marketing, social media, recruitment, Administration, video editing, UX/UI Designer and retail to name a few. Many of these roles can be based from home so are suitable for anyone across the country.

It’s an exciting time at Isme People as we are starting to build a number of new service offerings for our clients. One thing that has become clear whilst working with smaller business owners on the Kickstart scheme, is that it can be a struggle to work on your business and still dedicate enough time to regular 1-2-1’s with your employees and ensure they have clear objectives set. Anyone who has been a people manager will know that this can take up much of your time, however when you are a small business and growing that business, it’s often hard to find the time to support them in the way you want to. Throughout the 6 months that my clients Kickstarters have been working for them, they have been part of a weekly coaching/support group, the feedback from both clients and the employees around this has been positive and it’s been helpful for the employer to know there is an added level of support for their employee. This has led us on to thinking this is a service that many of our clients could benefit from outside of kickstart and in early 2022 we will be launching our talent management service which will span across the first 12 months of an employee joining your team. In partnership with you we will operate as an extension to your business, supporting your employee by carrying out regular performance reviews, identifying training needs and creating induction plans, plus a whole lot more. If this is a service you would like to hear more about, please do book a discovery call to discuss further or send me an email cathy.knight@ismepeople.co.uk. We will also be offering people audits in your business to look at where you are now and what your people strategy needs to be to move to where you want to take your business. This is all in addition to the recruitment services we are already offering clients across the UK. Further details will be coming out in the coming weeks.

This week also saw me saying goodbye to the first Kickstart mentoring group we set up back in July 2021. This amazing group of talent are now either in permanent roles with their employers or securing new roles in their chosen career. Their feedback this week has left me feeling a bit emotional, they have all expressed how much the programme has helped them grow in confidence, especially when attending interviews in the future. They particularly liked the sessions where we had a guest speaker talk about their career journey, so thank you to everyone who has given their time to this, it’s very much appreciated. I still have two other groups I meet with weekly, with spaces being filled up now for my fourth and final Kickstart group. I can honestly say it’s been an absolute joy to work with all of these individuals and see them grow.

January is looking like another busy month, we have received new vacancies to fill from 3 clients this week who haven’t been hiring since before the pandemic, this is a great indication that things are returning to where they were before Covid turn our working worlds upside down. Have a great month and a great 2022.
