I blinked and it was October!

I feel like I blinked, and September was over. I always like September; my birthday starts it off for me which is always nice. But it more than that, it’s the changing of the season, kids going back to school, getting back into a routine plus I always feel a sense of energy as we approach to final quarter of the year.

This year it’s been a little different, it started well when I had a BBQ with all my friends to celebrate being 40 + 1, then the schools and pre-school starting back, however this year my middle daughter has started primary school so we had all these half days, which felt like they went on forever (in reality 4 weeks), I certainly felt it was a breeze to hit my target number of steps each day walking back and forth to school so much. Then just as she entered her third week, where they get to stay for lunch and Mummy was getting a whole extra hour added to her childfree day, my daughter had an accident on a see saw at the park and breaks her ankle! Bang I’m then hit with a week of her at home, hospital appointments and then followed by another week of going to school but coming home for lunch or when they have PE lesson. Yep, those steps keep creeping up!!

Today I am celebrating, as we were back at the hospital yesterday and although she is still in plaster, they are happy with how it’s healing and she is allowed to put weight on it, so from tomorrow she is back in school for a full day, and I feel like I can fully concentrate again!

Just in time really after the government announced yesterday that the Kickstart scheme, which I have been supporting many of my clients with, has been extended. I am so pleased with this news; I feel passionate about helping young people to start their careers and gain experience in the industry they want to be in. So far, I have placed fifteen 18-24 year olds into roles with my clients and I’m running two cohorts of Kickstart coaching sessions, which I thoroughly enjoy, it lights me up to be on this journey with them and to see their confidence grow. I have gained approval for two new clients over the past week, and we are now commencing the process of finding the right people for them. What I love about Kickstart is that gives opportunity to both the employees going into a role but also small business owners who need additional resource to scale their business. The salary costs are covered by the government for the 6-month placement, and I know for me this has allowed me to make the step into employing a team with less risk involved. It’s fully paying off and I highly recommend exploring the scheme. Please do contact me if you want to discuss how we can support with this.

So, Hello October! Here’s hoping it’s a little less hectic and more business as usual. Today I had the pleasure of being a guest on the Dawn Jarvis Show Podcast and YouTube channel, the first time I have done anything like this but something I would love to do again. I’ll share the link on the social media channels when this goes live.

Have a great month everyone!
